The Preparatory Meeting for The World Traditional Medicine Forum cum World Federation of TCM Trade Services Conference Was Successfully Held

On the afternoon of February 7, 2025, the preparatory meeting for the 7th The World Traditional Medicine Forum cum World Federation of TCM Trade Services Conference was successfully held at the Victoria headquarters of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia. The meeting featured in-depth discussions on conference preparations, market promotion, cooperation partnerships, and delegation reception.

At the beginning of the meeting, Ken Smith delivered a speech, officially announcing the full launch of the conference and exhibition preparations. He introduced key details such as the event's date and location and expressed confidence in making this Health Expo a high-standard, high-quality industry event. He emphasized that the expo would not only promote the integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the health industry into the Oceania market but also facilitate the entry of premium Oceania products into the Chinese market.


On behalf of the Pharmacy Guild of Australia, President George welcomed Chairman Liu Zhongliang and his delegation, providing an overview of the association's history and influence. He noted that the Pharmacy Guild of Australia has been established for 98 years, covering 90% of pharmacies in the country and spanning multiple industries, including state branch properties, insurance companies, financial services, and OTC product manufacturing and distribution. As one of the expo's co-organizers, the Pharmacy Guild of Australia will actively support the event’s organization. He also highlighted the long-standing nine-year strategic cooperation agreement between the Pharmacy Guild of Australia and the China Association of Pharmaceutical Commerce. He expressed hopes that Chairman Liu Zhongliang’s visit would further deepen collaboration between the two organizations and that a series of significant agreements would be signed at the expo in October.

Chairman Liu Zhongliang, in his speech, highly commended and sincerely thanked President Ken Smith and President George for their efforts in the preparatory work. He introduced the China Association of Pharmaceutical Commerce, which has a history of over 30 years and covers 70% of pharmacies across China, managing 2,800 member pharmacies with a total network of 400,000 pharmacies of various sizes. For this October's expo, the association plans to bring 300 to 400 pharmacy chain owners, TCM experts, and manufacturers of Chinese patent medicine and herbal decoctions. Additionally, 30 to 50 TCM and health food manufacturers will be invited to exhibit.


Brett Greene shared that the expo is expected to bring together 50 health industry manufacturers from Oceania, leveraging the event to facilitate the entry of high-quality Australian and Oceania health products into the Chinese and global markets.


Sunny Sun stated that every effort would be made to ensure a smooth preparation process, supporting Chinese exhibitors in successfully entering the Oceania market while helping Australian exhibitors connect with China and other international markets. He emphasized the goal of making the expo a truly global trade platform.


The preparatory meeting reached the following consensus:

  • Academic Exchange:Invite renowned TCM masters, academicians, leading experts in the global TCM field, and Australian healthcare experts and scholars to attend, promoting international professional academic exchanges.

  • Governemnt and Business Cooperation:Invite Australian national leaders, the Minister of Health, Members of Parliament, the Premier of Victoria, and the Minister of Health of Victoria to attend, strengthening government support.

  • Industry Development:Promote the integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and health products into the Oceania market, while facilitating the entry of high-quality Australian health products into the Chinese market.

  • Trade and Business Circulation:Bring together leading enterprises and business leaders from the global healthcare industry to create an efficient business cooperation platform.

  • High-Level Participation:Invite the Chinese Ambassador to Australia, the Consul General of the Chinese Consulate in Melbourne, the Commercial Counselor, as well as leaders from the Australian Healthcare Association, the Australia-China Business Council, and Chinese community organizations to jointly witness the successful hosting of the expo.

That evening, Chairman Liu Zhongliang, accompanied by President Sunny Sun, had in-depth discussions with prominent figures from the TCM community in Melbourne.

Chairman Liu Zhongliang introduced that this expo will promote the expansion of Chinese medicine hospitals internationally, with the first Chinese-Mongolian hospital to be established in Australia. It will also bring more TCM products and herbal decoction products into the Australian market. At the same time, Australian health products will enter the Chinese chain pharmacy system through this expo.

President Sunny Sun further introduced the specific arrangements for the upcoming World Traditional Medicine Forum and World Traditional Chinese Medicine Trade Expo in October.

President Lin Ziqiang stated that the association will actively organize its members to participate in the expo and jointly promote the further development of TCM in Australia.

President Wang Wencheng mentioned that the association will organize TCM wholesale companies to exhibit at the event and set up booths to strengthen the market promotion of TCM products.

President Li Kangxiao pointed out that Australia currently has over 4,500 registered TCM practitioners, and the acceptance and attention towards TCM in Australia are continuously growing. He hopes that this forum and expo will further expand the TCM market in Australia.

Chairman Liu Yang expressed that high-quality products such as reishi spore powder under V-Kang Pharmaceutical Group will be highlighted at the expo, aiming to further expand the Australian and Oceania markets through this event.

Secretary-General Li Jun emphasized that the Oceania Business Council will coordinate various resources to ensure the successful hosting of the expo!

The expo will be grandly held in Melbourne, Australia,
